Car Dealership Fraud and Disputes
If a car dealership lied about the condition of the vehicle, failed to disclose prior accidents, misstated the amount of down payment, threatened to improperly repossess your vehicle, or breached your contract agreement, you have legal rights you can pursue against the dealership.
Bankruptcy Chapter 13
A Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing allows you to create a repayment plan to catch up on your debts, especially to your mortgage lender or car dealer if you are trying to avoid foreclosure or prevent repossession.
Bankruptcy Chapter 7
A Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing allows you to eliminate unsecured debts such as credit cards, medical bills, personal loans, and generally tax debt older than 3 years. Filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy gives you a fresh start financially. When a Chapter 7 bankruptcy is discharged, your credit rating improves as the negative debts are removed and you have an opportunity to rebuild your credit scores.
Debt Settlement
You may be in a circumstance where you owe a debt but you are not able to file for bankruptcy. In such circumstances, it will benefit you to attempt to negotiate the debt with the creditor.
Estate Planning
Creating an estate plan gives you control in anticipating and arranging, during your lifetime, the management and disposition of your assets, while minimizing tax consequences for your heirs.
Fair Credit Reporting
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have a right to the fair and accurate reporting of your credit information. You are also entitled to certain privacy rights concerning your credit information and protection from the misuse of your credit information.
Fair Debt Collection Practices
Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA): The FDCPA applies to debt collectors only, not to creditors collecting their debts. Generally, a debt collector under the statute is someone who regularly collects debts owed to others, including: collection agencies, attorneys who collect debts on a regular basis, and companies that purchase delinquent debts and then attempt to collect them.
